PSTA Adhesive for Room
Temperature Adhesion of Interface Materials to
Substrates
PSTA
(Pressure Sensitive Thermal Adhesive) is an adhesive system that can
be used with ORCUS FSF-52, FSF-98 or with Thermaphase on
Kapton 52°C or Thermaphase on Kapton 98°. Since FSF-71
material is naturally sticky it doesn't need any adhesive. But
remember that FSF-71 material required higher closure force (also
called "mounting force", "compression force", "contact pressure" and
probably several other names). But let's not dwell on that,
let's continue thinking Allegretto...
The
nice thing about PSTA is several things...
1) It
does not increase the thermal resistance of the thermal
interface 2) After you have lightly pressed the pad on the heat
sink, you well may find that you don't have the hole in
the pad lined up with the hole in the
heat sink. Our interface materials, with PSTA allow you to
slide the pad on the heat sink to
position it exactly. 3) With PSTA you don't have the
preheat the heat sink, to adhere the thermal pad.
The
general procedure applying PSTA FSF-52 and Thermaphase on Kapton
parts having PSTA on one surface (or on both surfaces on special
order) is shown below: |
