Explanation of Part Numbering System for Rolls

Part Numbering System for Rolls having substrates (for example Kapton, Aluminum, Mylar, Silver)

Example:

R1K5F1/1NZX*304-154

R=Roll
1=1 mil thick substrate
K=Kapton material

5=52c phase change material
F=Type of compound used to coat substrate (regular FSF)
1/1=1 mil thickness of the coating on each side of the substrate 
N=No adhesive required
Z=No protective layer needed
X=Thickness of protective layer 
*=Represents the beginning of the size of roll  requested
304=Width of roll in mm
154=Length of roll in meters 


Description  Rolls of Thermaphase compound Kapton Substrate

Standard Compound Thickness:  1 mil

Note: On special order we can make the Thermaphase coating from 0.5mils up to 10 mils thick.We can make the thickness different on each side (for example 1 mil thick on one side, 3 mils thick on the other.)  This is very useful if using a smooth component on one side of the interface, and a rough heat sink on the other side.

Standard Kapton Substrate Thickness:  1 mil, 2 mil, and 3 mil.

Note:  The thicker the Kapton substrate the higher the dielectric strength, but thicker Kapton means higher thermal resistance and higher cost.

Standard Roll Widths: 304mm (12 inches)
Standard Roll Lengths: 153 meters (500ft)

OPTIONS:      

A) These rolls are also available with a kiss-cut interleave.  The Thermaphase on Kapton is wound with a Release liner to which the Thermaphase/Kapton adheres.Parts can be kiss cut on this release liner, the scrap removed.  To use the parts, you simply peel them from the release liner.

Description:  Free Standing Film Thermaphase compound (no substrate)

This material consists of dry-to-the touch, free standing, flexible thermal interface compound.  This material is delivered with a 3-mil clear polyester release liner on each side.  This material can also be delivered self-wound with a single 3-mil clear polyester release liner.  If delivered with release liner on both sides, the material is wound on 10” cores.  If self wound on a single release liner, material is delivered on 3” cores.

Standard Compound Thickness:  5 mils

          Note: On special order we can make Free Standing Thermaphase Film from 3mils up to 20 mils thick. 

          We can make sheets of this material up to 125 mils thick.                     

Standard Roll Widths: 9” 13" 

Standard Roll Lengths:  1000'  

FSF material self-wound with a single release liner can be kiss-cut and then scrap removed. Then the parts can be peeled from the release liner easily for application to heat sinks.
